How Much You Should Charge 💰
You might be wondering how we got a $32B company to sponsor our newsletter. (btw clicking sponsored links helps us out 😁)
Here is our secret… create valuable content.
It doesn’t matter what platform you create content on whether it’s TikTok, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, or Email, just make sure you provide value to your audience in the form of either education or entertainment.
A common misconception is that you have to have a huge audience or charge almost nothing to land large sponsorship deals, but this is not the case, if you provide valuable content and you have an audience that truly cares about you, then you can start making some serious money through paid partnerships.
Side note: As I’ve said previously, the best way to source new sponsorships is to email brands directly.
For those who don’t already have our brand outreach email template, here is the link:
This template will help you land brand deals and it is completely free… you’re welcome ;)
Now let’s get into how to price a paid promotion.
The easiest way to set your price is to find creators who are comparable to you and ask them how much they charge for a sponsored post. This will give you an idea of what you should be charging for each deliverable you offer.
However, most influencer marketing deals fetch around a $15-30 CPM. So what you can do is take your average video views and use a $30 CPM as a reference.
This means if you average 10,000 views you would calculate 10 x $30 to find your price of $300 per advertisement.
CPM = Cost Per Mille (cost per 1,000 views).
Here is a CPM calculator you can use to see how much you can charge:
Keep in mind that different deliverables you offer will have different prices, and prices should vary between platforms for example, a dedicated ad on YouTube will cost much more than a simple link-in-bio placement on Instagram.
Key Takeaways 📝
Now that you understand how to price an ad placement on your socials, I would recommend reaching out to some brands you like and see if you can land a paid partnership with them.
Best of luck in the week ahead!
